The International Day of Forests is a day that was established in 2003 by the UN to celebrate forests, their importance and the challenges they face. The sustainable development goals include the need to protect natural resources, including forests. Forests provide many benefits to humans and other species such as clean air, fresh water, food security and protection from floods. To make this day successful we need to raise awareness on how important forest services are for our society and what we can do to protect them.
